Cat’s Eye (also called Tiger’s Eye- along with Hawk’s Eye) is a chatoyant gemstone that is usually a metamorphic rock with a golden to red-brown color and a silky luster It is a member of the Quartz family. Ancient Byzantine and Assyrian cultures used Carnelian to foster courage, both in battle as well as during performances. Carnelian was believed to help timid speakers become eloquent and bold.
